Line Art Project

Line Art Project

In my Introduction to Visual Arts class, we had an assignment to create a line art drawing. This project was inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. He was an artist that used lines and shapes to create interesting designs.

To begin this project, we were tasked with creating a pencil drawing that had overlapping lines and shapes. After this drawing was finalized, we printed three extra copies. We traced the designs onto a large piece of paper. We mirrored the image to create the final design.

Next, it was time to pick out colors. I chose a split complementary color scheme. It was important to choose a color scheme that would pop and stand out. Coloring this project took a long time, but the final project is very cool.
